What would you use it for?

The Retro Cast is a great USB microphone option for podcasting and DAW Recording.  It's perfect for a small home recording studio, or for an internet radio personality!


What type of polar pattern does it have?

The Retro Cast has a standard cardioid pattern that will be the most sensitive directly in the front of the capsule and reject any sound from directly behind the capsule. Here is a graph depicting the capsule's response at 1kHz:

What is the frequency response?

The Retro Cast has a wide-range 40-16kHz frequency response which ensures quality sound.

Is the included mini tripod stand adjustable?

Yes!The Mini Tripod stand has a about a 2 inch height adjustment range.  The adjustable microphone also allows you to fine tune the angle for direct voice capture.


Can I use this on a mic stand other than the one included?

Yes!  The Retro cast has a standard 5/8th connector for attaching to a micstand.  A 3/8th adapter is also included for adapting to smaller micstands.


What software can I use it with?

The Retro Cast can be used with any Software that allows a USB microphone.


Does this require drivers?

The Retro Cast is a "plug-and play" class-compliant device that does not require drivers.  As soon as you connect it to your computer it will be recognized as a USB microphone and will be ready to use!
