Alesis DM10 - How to Back Up the Settings
This article walks you through how to back up the DM10 module settings, in case you ever need to do a factory reset. For this tutorial we will be using Bome's SendSX for Windows and SNoize's MIDI Monitor for Macintosh.

Backing up the DM10 Module Settings (Windows)
- Download, and install Bome's SendSX.
- Connect the DM10 module to your computer using a USB Cable and turn it on.
- Open SendSX and click Midi In, and select USB DM10 MIDI Interface.
- On the DM10 module press the UTILITY button to enter the Utilities menu.
- Press SYS (F4) which will bring you to the SysEx Send menu.
- In the SysEx Send menu you have the option to send All Memory or All Trigger settings. Once you have made your selection press Send (F4). Send SX will then receive the data being sent from the module.
- Once the transfer is complete in SendSX go to File > Save MIDI In As...
- Name your file and save it to a location of your choice on your computer. You now have your DM10 module settings backup file stored on your computer for future use!
Backing up the DM10 Module Settings (Macintosh)
- Download and install SNoize's MIDI Monitor
- Connect the DM10 module to your computer using a USB cable and turn it on.
- Open MIDI Monitor and click the box next to MIDI sources.
- Click the arrow next to Filter and make sure System Exclusive is checked.
- On the DM10 module press the UTILITY button to enter the Utilities menu.
- Press SYS (F4) which will bring you to the SysEx Send menu.
- In the SysEx Send menu you have the option to send All Memory or All Trigger settings. Once you have made your selection press Send (F4). SNoize will then receive the data being sent from the module.
- Once the transfer is complete in SNoize, go to File in the top left of your screen and select SaveAs...
- Name your file and save it to a location of your choice on your computer. You now have your DM10 module settings backup file stored on your computer for future use!
