With the ION Cassette Adapter Bluetooth, your car’s cassette player instantly becomes a wireless Bluetooth receiver. Just like that, you can stream music from any Bluetooth music player or phone. No complicated installation. No cables. No tangled or snagged tape. This article will help you get the best sound quality out of the ION Cassette Adapter Bluetooth.
Optimizing Audio Quality
- Switch what side of the cassette you are listening to by using your stereo's "auto-reverse" function.
Depending on what style cassette player you are using, one side of the Cassette Adapter Bluetooth may sound preferable to the other. If your cassette player allows you to change what side of the tape you are listening to automatically, try both sides of the Cassette Adapter Bluetooth. Do not physically flip the tape as this will obstruct the microphone and prevent you from using the adapter as a hands-free call system.
- Turn down the volume on your phone or tablet.
One of the most common causes of poor audio quality on all Bluetooth devices is having the source volume up too loud. Try to keep the volume of your source device no louder than 50% of the maximum level and use the knob on your cassette player to turn up the overall volume. For example, on an iPhone, we recommend setting the volume using the buttons on the side of your phone until the volume indicator is about half full.
- Use an application to your phone or tablet that allows you to EQ music playback.
If you are using the Apple Music App on iOS 8 or higher, you can EQ your music playback without using another app.
Go to... Settings > Music > EQ
We also recommend downloading our own Block Rocker app to give you more control over the volume and EQ of your music.
