Vinyl Transport is a classically-styled suitcase turntable that recalls the popular portable turntables from the past. Vinyl Transport has a rugged case with a handle so you can carry it anywhere. It plays all your 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM records, it comes with a 45 RPM adapter, and it has built-in stereo speakers for convenient listening without having to connect external speakers. In addition, it has RCA outputs for simple connection to home audio equipment and a convenient Auto-Stop feature kicks in when it reaches the end of the record. Vinyl Transport far surpasses the old suitcase turntables in versatility, however. It can also operate on four AA batteries—which means you can enjoy your records even if you’re not near a wall plug. This articles answers your frequently asked questions about Vinyl Transport.

Vinyl Transport takes 4AA batteries.
You don't! Vinyl Transport can also be powered by the included wall adapter.
I have Vinyl Transport plugged into my stereo but it sounds distorted. Is there a way to improve the output?
The RCA outputs on the back of Vinyl Transport are LINE outputs and should only be plugged into LINE level inputs. On your stereo, these might be labeled as AUX, CD, or TAPE inputs. Do not plug the RCA ouputs into PHONO inputs. Vinyl Transport has a built-in preamp that will be too loud for PHONO inputs and will sound distorted or may cause damage.
Vinyl Transport needs to remain any time there is a record on the platter.
My records are hitting the bottom of the cover during playback. Is my Vinyl Transport defective? Should my platter be higher?
Always use the included slipmat. Vinyl Transport includes an 8" felt slipmat that should always be placed between the platter and your records. Without the slipmat, your records may sit too low and hit the bottom of the cover.
You can replace the slipmat with any 7-8" felt slipmat. You can also order a replacement directly from ION Audio by contacting support.

Vinyl Transport does not have a USB connection and cannot be directly hooked up to your computer to convert your vinyl to digital. Vinyl Transport is a great portable turntable for listening on the go, but if you're interested in converting your vinyl collection to a digital format, you should check out the ION Vinyl Motion, which offers extra features with the same suitcase form factor.
